| The Land of Fire (火の国, Hi no Kuni) is one of the largest and most powerful countries in the series, and the home of the main characters of the series. Its government leader is the Fire Daimyō. The Land of Fire was the first country to adopt a ninja village, Konohagakure, a custom other countries would soon adopt. The Land of Fire is appropriately oriented towards the element of fire, typically having very bright and warm weather. While not the physically largest country, it has the largest hidden village. Its government leader is the Lightning Daimyō. In the centre of the country are vast mountain ranges, whose many thunderstorms are said to give the country its name. From these mountain ranges, many rivers flow to the sea, creating a very crooked coastline that displays an impressive oceanic beauty. There are many hot springs located within the country. It is composed of many islands, with each having its own unique traditions. The country's weather is typically cool and full of mist and lakes. In some places, like the area where Haku grew up, it is very cold and snows quite a bit. Little is currently known about it and it apparently leaves itself out of most political affairs, which is understandable considering that it is composed of vast islands relatively remote from the continent containing the other four major countries. What is known, however, is that the country used to be ravaged by many civil wars, during which clans with Kekkei Genkai were used extensively, causing many to view them as harbingers of war and death, leading to purges and genocide to the point of parents killing their own children. Its government leader is the Earth Daimyō. The country is mostly comprised of desolate, rocky areas. The border of the Land of Earth runs along a rocky mountain range, blocking communication with other countries. The wind blowing from the north passes over these mountains, carrying small rocks from the Land of Earth to the surrounding countries. This famous natural phenomenon is called "Rock Rain" (岩雨, Gan'u). It is located to the south-west of the Land of Fire and borders the Land of Rivers and Amegakure. Its government leader is the Wind Daimyō. The country covers a vast realm, but that realm is largely composed of deserts. Because there is very little rainfall throughout the year, the people of the country live in villages built on one of the desert's many oases. Despite the country's extremely harsh environment, it has a large population. Although they have warred with each other in the past, the Land of Wind is on good terms with the Land of Fire, with a great deal of trade going on between the two countries. Moderator: Seisoku Sunagakure, Outskirts | 0 | 0 | | | The Land of Iron (鉄の国, Tetsu no Kuni) is an icy, snow-covered country. It is politically unusual in that it has remained neutral and never been involved in the ninja wars. In fact, the shinobi have a rule since long ago that they would not meddle with the land. Despite this, it is said to have an incredibly strong military which is manned by samurai, instead of ninja. In the Chūnin Exams, a ninja wearing a headband with a crescent moon shape on it is seen taking the test, but is not mentioned or shown in the other exams. Moderator: Seisoku
| 0 | 0 | | | Amegakure (雨隠れの里, Amegakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden in Rain") is a small, yet highly industrialized hidden village located in an unnamed country. A number of smaller villages also surround Amegakure. As its name suggests, it rains almost constantly due to a storm above the village. Many shinobi from this village seem to wear a kind of mask that allows them to breathe underwater. Moderator: Seisoku
| 0 | 0 | | | Kusagakure (草隠れの里, Kusagakure no Sato; Literally meaning "Village Hidden in the Grass") is located in a thus far unnamed country. Because it had Genin participating in the Chūnin exams organised by Konohagakure, it can be assumed the two villages are allied. Moderator: Seisoku
| 0 | 0 | | | Tenma no Kuni, also known as The Land of demons. Is a large chain of islands located far off the coast of the Land of Fire. These islands are completely isolated from the rest of the shinobi world. Inaccessible by any means as the raging seas shall claim any ships that try to get close and any ship that does will end up being torn apart by the large, jagged, rocks that surround the island. The most mysterious thing about this island is that it is only completely visible when the sun sets. During the day and at night it is rendered invisible by thick sea fog.
These islands are-though greatly unknown by the shinobi world-populated, however. Long ago this island was used as a prison to keep the most dangerous of clans separate from the shinobi world. These outcasts were branded demons by the shinobi (though most allegations and names were correct) and were slowly pushed away to these islands. Many were killed, but the shinobi used their numbers to eventually win. This event happened more than 2000 years ago and has been long forgotten, leaving the new shinobi world ignorant of it's presence.
Tenma no Kuni contains a large, central village named Onigakure. Onigakure is ruled and protected by three individuals known as the Akumakage. These three individuals and their subjects will stop at nothing to protect their islands.
